Re-flash Question
I have a custom tune from matt@Gearhead and I am going to get my truck re-flashed at ford to try and resolve some tranny issues...long story. If I get it re-flashed and it changes the strategy will my custom tune still work?

From what I understand, no you won't be able to use your current files with the new strategy. Now, they may run the new strategy, but not be the most efficient about it. I would check with Matt, the tuner would be able to tell you one way or the other.

When you say "your current files" do you men the custom tunes or all tunes including the generic tunes?

Actually, as long as you reload your stock file before you take it in, you should be fine. When you load your custom tunes it reprograms everything including the strategy. My tunes from Matt are not on the same strategy that my stock file is. Thank god!

A reflash isnt gonna cure your trans issue.
Whats it doing? |

Here is my question when I read your post. Will it do you any good to get a reflash from the dealer if you are going to reload your tune from Matt? If I understand it correctly when you reload your tune from Matt it will overwrite the reflash that you just got done. So I am not sure if you are going to gain anything. Some of the other guys who know more about this may be able to chime in about that.

Yes, you will loose your new flash from the dealer when you reload your SCT tunes, unless they are rewritten to your new strategy. You will basically throw $100 bill out the window. .....Ask me how I know
