Deltas?
Alright I got my torque App. working in my truck. Riding in town with traffic my ECT is 196 and EOT is 200 (Ambient 89°F). Now coming home on the interstate my ECT was 194 and my EOT was 206 (Ambient 77°F running 70mph). I was not pulling anything. Why are my temps so close in traffic but so far away on the interstate?

sounds fine, wouldn't worry about it. People are about to post the fact you should replace either your oil cooler, or maybe your entire engine. My recommendation is not to sweat it!

My theory is that at higher speeds the cooling system performs better so temperatures are maintained easier by the thermostat but at higher engine rpm the oil is worked harder, especially by the injectors, so it gets hotter.

Thats good to hear. I just got the truck 2 months ago would hate to have to spend a ton of money in it so soon.

I had the same 12 degree delta as you and changed my oil cooler (I was replacing the HPOP anyway). I now see 194 ECT and 204 EOT at 70 mph.
Keep an eye on the temps but I wouldn't worry about it. |

Heck I swapped tunes in my truck now mine read 198 ect and 204 eot at 70. And sometimes read 200 and 204 at 70. To where I was running 190 and 195 at 70 with the different tune!
These are both in 90+ temps outside Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app |
