Looking for more power and less smoke
I have a 03 with a air raid intake, 4 inch turbo back straight pipe and a bully dog power hound its also studded and deleted. My problem is that the truck is a lil smokey, so i removed the programmer due to the smoke. I would like more power without the smoke. I think I'm goin to try a sct. I would like around 450 to 500 HP. Someone help me out.

SCT with a tune by Matt @ Gearhead Automotive Performance. Since your rig is studded, go with the higher performance SRL+. Have fun!

I am running TSD's Super Panty Dropper for studs. I had Chris make it with progressive fueling, it does not smoke very much at all and it is very fun

Sounds like you could use a Mad Power Durastroke or Stage II Turbo.
Eric's street extreme tune runs clean and gets great mileage at the same time. Innovative Diesel, tell him Denny sent ya. D |

Definitely get rid of that bullydog garbage. You're killing your truck. Get a Sct and a monitoring device first and foremost. If you plan on adding HP you need to get a Egt thermocouple to monitor your exhaust temps. (absolutely critical when adding HP) After that throw some Warren 190's in and pick up an aftermarket fuel pump. A.D. or Fass. Oh and prepare to work a lot of overtime.
It's not cheap to get HP out of these motors.

I already have gauges pyro, boost and trans temp. But I got a steal on the bully dog that's why its on there. I want a sct tho. Yeah i think I will have to sell my 03 turbo first then get some injectors. It still has the stock ones in it with 126,xxx on em OS its about time for new ones.

If you are looking for less smoke, I'd drop the injectors from your to-do list for the time being. The gauges you have listed aren't enough to keep an eye on everything under the hood. ECT/EOT, FICM Voltage, and Fuel Pressure really need to be monitored as well.
For performance upgrades, I'd do the following: Custom SCT tuning of the ECM/TCM. PHP tuning of the FICM (after you verify its still good) A Madpowerstroke Stage I or Stage II turbo depending on your long term power goals (once released). These will put you around 450RWHP (stage I and moderate tuning) without the smoke. But that monitoring package should come first, and the Bully Dog needs to come out of the truck. |
