Rear heat shield

How important is it to re-install the rear heat shield at the back of the engine? I know I'm being lazy but it was a real pain getting to those bolts that hold into the back of the HPOP cover and I'm not looking forward to getting them back in.

Are you talking about the one on the intake passenger side? If so I didn't have one on mine when I done oil cooler, I guess from previous work and I have seen no ill effects from my knowledge.

Yeah, the one directly behind the turbo, between the y pipe and the firewall.
