Alt Volts ?

Just installed a DC Power 185 Alternator. At idle it shoes 12.2 volts at 2500 rpm still shows 12.2. I was thinking I should see 13.6 - 14.0 volts at 2500 rpm. What volts are you all getting?

I have been getting 13.4-13.7 while running. I do have dual alternators also.

I get 14 volts at idle, after the glow plugs turn off. That's also with nothing on. With the parking lights on, it's about 13.7 volts.

12.2 isnt good.. Im getting 14.4 on startup and 13.8 or higher running warm. You want to be in the 13s to be safe.

How long after start up

Ran it this morning in town max volt was 12.4 I think there might be a problem with this alt.

Upper 13s. low 14s when GPs shut off and alt kicks on.

I venture to guess the voltage regulator is no good.

Yea...lol my oem alt is 13.5-13.7 after the gp shut off.

mid 13s is fine
