What oil are you guys running in the 6.0?

I tried searching but couldn't seem to find anything. I have a 2003 F250 6.0 that I just bought and I want to do my oil change tomorrow but want to put the best oil in there for my truck. I read some where on here to use Motorcraft filters but I'm not sure what viscosity or brand oil to use. I did read that synthetic is a must and I run full synthetic in all my vehicles.

I eventually want to change/flush all my fluids, already did my coolant today now oil tomorrow.

The best, and all I run after trying many, by far is Mobil Delvac 1 ESP. Its spendy and you have to get it at the Big Rigs stores.

The inexpensive option is Rotella T6 5w40 from Walmart. Usually around $21.36/gallon. I prefer Amsoil 5w40 and Mobil1 5w40 is another great option. Both Amsoil and Mobil1 are true synthetic and not posers like the rest.

Whatever you choose use a 5w40. Racor makes the Motorcraft filters and Fram filters as well. You can get the Motorcraft and maybe Fram as well at Wally World.

I run Amsoil 5w 40. A full synthetic is a must and 5w 40 is also a must. The injectors like it better than 15w 40. And yes use ONLY MOTORCRAFT filters, no matter how close the cheaper one looks, it ain't right.

Thanks guys I will probably go with Mobil 1, I run that in all my other cars. I am new to diesels so I wanted to check on here before I changed my oil.

I run shell rotella full synthetic and motor craft oil filters. I buy all
If this at Walmart as they are the cheapest around my area.

Rotella t6 full synthetic 5w 40 regular 27.00 a gallon I seen at advance today there on sale for 22 a galon around here also about same sale price at wal mart here but might be good check your local advance and Walmart

in my 7.3l i run rotella 15 w40 im gettign a 6.0l when i get back from deployment though so im glad im reading this post i need to see what oil to run in the new truck now 5w40 do you guys have porbs with increased oil pressure from tuning and a thinner oil like oil leaks?

I'm suprised your search didn't turn up any results, there is about 1,001 threads on this subject on this site alone. Like everyone has been saying in this thread, so far, 5W40 synthetic and Motor Craft / Racor filter ONLY. Some brands are better than others, if you'd like to get into that, there are plenty of threads with plenty of opinions, but you know what they say about opinions
Amsoil and Mobil1 are good ones, or Rotella T6 if you want to keep it cheap (as cheap as it can be for 3.5 gallons of synthetic oil, lol)

I knew they made MotorCraft filters, have never heard that they made the Fram filter too. Do you have any further supporting info on that fact? (not that I'm doubting you, just curious)

Next time your are in a parts store that has both the Fram and Motorcraft filters take a look. Same filter, same stamping on the bottoms.
