Anyone else have this happen
Ok been having minor puking only when engine warm would go over 16 psi.
Had coolent filter for about a year finally put it on, don't know why it didn't do it sooner. Was very easy to do. Now I can't get it to go over 16 psi which is good, but why. People look at you funny when your going 85 on on ramp, did it 4 times. More expansion room? Going to see about monitor/programer tomorrow at a dyno day event here in WI. Thought's. |

How full do you keep the degas bottle? Only a few ways to develop pressure in the degas bottle - liquid expansion compressing the vapor space and the introduction of gas (head gasket leaks, EGR cooler leak, or flash boiling of the coolant liquid).

I try to keep it around a 1/2" under the min. mark.
I could crank on her when cold would never build pressure, until it got up to temp. then it would go to 16 psi so I think it's boiling in the oil cooler. Still gets to close for comfort, want to tow camper this summer also. Trucks got 176k, have a whole list of up grades to do. Almost have oil by-pass filter ready to hook up. Had to make custom mount off of alt. bolt's, it's tight, but as long as engine doesn't flex to much. Just a little more trimming & shifting things alittle. Don't want to beat on it to much until I can read temps. |

Sounds like EGR cooler or head gaskets. That pressure value is definitely not normal.
