CTS installed today...have a few questions

Got the CTS installed today. In the drive home which was around 60-70 miles interstate/city/ mountain drive the EOT maintained 192 jumping up to 195 pulling a slight hill. ECT maintained 185 jumping to 190 pulling the same hill. Then came the 7% grade for about 4 miles i maintained 60 mph the EOT peaked at 202 and the ECT peaked at 200. Does everything seem to be ok or not? The biggest difference I saw between them was about 12* the EOT being the highest.

The difference numbers look good, but your coolant temp being 185 normal is low. From what I understand 190 - 192 is the normal range. Wait for more info here, but I think you may need a new thermostat.

That is well withing parameters. But.if.your ect is going below or has trouble reaching 190 your thermostat needs to be replaced. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Ok then I guess ill be changing the thermostat. Keeping a steady speed with very little load in the motor Ect will be 180-185 but soon as you start pulling harder it will reach 192. Thanks for the help

Yea, definatly a bad thermostat. Ect should be 190-192 unloaded on flat surface.

That sucks, I have a brand new thermostat and my ECT's are about 182. Maybe cause its not a Motorcraft thermostat...
