ficmrepair.com thumbs up

I recently had a ficm repaired by Ed. He did a great job and great turnaround. He spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me talking about all the ins and outs of how the ficm works and what to watch out for.

I also got the atlas 40 tune, I don't know if it was because I spent a few days driving around HMMMWVs, but there seemed to be a bit more power, the turbo spooled up quicker, and fuel mileage did increase.

I would highly recommend the service to anyone.

I noticed better throttle response and turbo spooling, but I don't know about MPG. probably less because I was getting on it more.... I plan on making a long trip tomorrow so I'll see how she does.

i gained 2 mpgs with the atlas 40 and repair by ed, i went with the premium repair

I'm thinking I may do this with the Atlas 40. Is your rig studded? What was the total cost? Were you already having FICM problems?

Engine is stock, my FICM had 3/4 of the boards fried. The repair was $195 and the tune is normally $150.

Well, did about 350 miles today, most of it over 70 mph. The first 150 of it was primarily around 2100 RPM, slightly less on the return. Averaged 18.5 mpg for the overall trip, mostly highway. Overall I am very happy with the Atlas 40 tune.

Got my FICM back. With the Atlas 40. But, it will be hard to determine the increase in fuel mileage.

Was it the FICM and Atlas 40? Or the addition of the Powermax turbo the same day?
