When does the cab come off?
I am working on *my list*..
I know what I need/want (in that order) to do, now I am working on how it gets done. I am going through the steps to decide what I want to tackle for myself, and what I want to pay someone else to do, either because I simply cannot, or because it is more than I want to handle on my own. I have seen pictures of trucks in the shop with their cabs lifted, to get engine work done. What is going on there? As an excursion owner, it doesn't seem like something i have the ability to do. Some things on my list that I am looking into doing on my own, maybe, are: coolant flush & filter BPD oil cooler BPD egr upgrade turbo back exhaust blue spring fuel psi, pyro, turbotimer for my insight That is the order they came to mind, not the order they are in on the list. Are any of these things going to require the 'cab off' process? TIA, Old Man |

You can do your "to do list" without having to lift the cab. The most of the time a cab is lifted is to do head or head gaskets.
I would get a top side creeper to make things easier. You also may want to do a STC fitting upgrade and clean your turbo unison ring while your in there. |

top side creeper is on the top of 'another' list.. heh
I'm not familiar with an 'STC fitting upgrade'. Is that one of these 'Updates from Ford' that I have heard about? Giving the turbo a good cleaning out, as well as the EGR valve, are on the ever growing 'maintenance' list.. heh |
