P0401 with EGR delete, what gives?

so I've had my liberator EGR delete kit in for like 4 years now and the other day I was driving to the cabin with a small load.

I happened to look at the DTC's and noticed I had a P0401 - EGR insufficient flow code.

I cleared it and hasn't come back for over 400 miles.

why would that get triggered when the EGR is deleted.

note - I have the complete uppipe delete and have the egr valve installed and plugged in to eliminate other DTC codes. Also, about 800 miles ago I cleaned my EBP (exhaust backpressure) sensor tube to eliminate another DTC code. lol this motor is a lot of work to keep happy

I get that one all the time and I just clear it. It usually doesn't show up unless I take a longer drive or work it hard like doing 80 up the pass and even then it only turns on the engine light once in a while. I can tell when the fan isn't getting up to full RPM then I'll clear it.

I know tunes will take care of it. I just haven't gotten an SCT yet.

BTW...Nice sled. Where you at?

see i have an 04 and i don't get a cel, i only found it because every so often i do a read dtc on the insight and noticed it came up.

hmmm....i am not tuned either and that makes sense cause the computer still thinks i have egr. is there actually a flow sensor on the egr? must be. oh well it happens once in a blue moon.

I think that the flow is inferred My 04 never threw that code until I got a CTS, once I got the CTS the low flow code would come and my hypertech would read it, custom tunes will fix it. Have you removed your intake butterfly?

yes butterfly gone but kept the housing installed with the connector hooked up

I also still have the EGR valve in the manifold with the connector hooked up (per Liberators direction)

Yeah it doesn't throw a CEL on the dash display, its like a passive DTC code.

my 06 with the latest calibration will throw a P0401 and set the light but only when it gets warmer out. like 55-60°F, all other times it's in memory but no light.
