off road diesel
So, I was looking at the color of off road diesel compaired to running regular diesel with ATF in it and it looks the same. How would anyone know the difference. Also, if someone wanted to check and I said no what would give them a right to check anyways. I have locking gas caps on both my main tank and my aux tank. My background is in Law Enforcement and I can not find the answer to this. Im not looking for hearsay Im looking for case law or statute. But then again Im not DOT or aTrooper ether. Anyone else in Floirda running it? I wont tell I promis.

I dont see any reason that you would get pulled over. unless of course you blacking out the interstate/ being stupid. around here iv never heard of anyone getting dipped, and theirs a lot of guys that run it around here.

I'm not a fan either. I wouldn't worry about running it unless they dip tanks down there

Its just one of those things man.... You might get away with cheating on your girl friend a few times or you might get away with it forever.
If you are willing to risk it, it is what it is. I am one for the law and following it. Also, I am one for not wanting to spend even more tax dollars on stuff. |

Im from Orlando, and I highly doubt theyd ever dip you tank. Right now I live in Greenville, SC. There doesnt seem to be much offroad diesel here. NOW, if you live in NC, I DARE you to fill up with that stuff. They DO dip tanks and OFTEN.
The outcome of leading the state troopers on a high speed chase would probably be better then getting pulled over. I believe its $100 a gallon if you get pulled over with it. I wouldnt risk it to save a few pennies. What are you saving on a 30 gallon tank? $15? Isnt worth it IMO. |

Also lets say you get dipped. And at that point in time you fight it and say, whoa - its ATF.
There is a GOOD chance they would take a sample from the dipping and send it to a lab. They could tell if it was ATF or dye. So maybe you add some ATF to your RED? Again, not condoning it. I will run red if I am on a side job that has free fuel and I know most of it will be gone when I leave. EDIT: DYE not DIE. lol |

That would be an illegal search and sezure. Dont concent to searches....ever.
