found out what the clunking sound is

Well the motor is out of the 03 and on the stand! Pulled the oil pan off and guess what! All kinds of metal in it! He started turning the engine over and guess what? I have a one of a kind 2 peice crank shaft! So I headed over the the shop when i get off work and started looking at all the metal that was in the pan! One piece seemed to stick out to me, I grab it up and its a socket! A 5 dollar part that someone dropped in the motor and was to lazy to get out is costing me thousands!

I will try to get some pics tomorrow. I have some but they are crappy cell pics.

Little background on the truck! I bought it and didn't even drive it 1000 miles and this all happened. Bought from a private party. So guess I got the raw end of the deal on this one.

Wow that is really unfortunate. I guess all you can do is make the best of the situation. Upgrade everything while it's out and have a bullet proof motor when it's done. Good luck!

thats the plan! Longblock should be here anyday! Injectors got sent off today to get refreshed! New oil cooler, hpop, and y-pipe as well. Allready have a new turbo, icp sensor, and ipr valve. Has a newer ficm as well.. Will be studded and deleted too. Just sucks that i have to dump a **** ton of money all at once. Would like to get alot more goodies but im allready in pretty deep as it is!

Atleast i know what i have now. I can start fresh with this motor and will allways know how its been taken care of. Will have elc coolant from the begining. The radiator and heater core are getting flushed while the motor is out as well.

Now i know why i got a pretty good deal on the truck. The guy knew he had a time bomb.. People like that make me sick! This will bite him ten fold in a little thing called karma! She can be a bigger ***** then anyone!!

That's a new EPA mandate so it can run on less cylinders when you don't need the power.

Sorry to hear about this man. You may have legal options. It would be worth a phone call to find out. I guess he could always plead ignorance though.

Its on the list. I highly doubt anything will come out of it. I bought a used truck "as is". I threw the dice with a privite party and I lost! Chalk it up to an experience and move forward I suppose.

I just want my truck on the road again. I also got salt on the would last week too. Was driving my blazer and the muffler fell off. I can't even hear myself think in it now!
