OK I am completely confused!!
Bought my 04 F250 about a month ago and within the first week I noticed I had coolant pukeing from the degas bottle. Like everyone else I assumed the worse. After some research and looking around on the forums I determined my headgaskets were blown. I though if I am going to do this I am going to do it right so I ordered a kit for the gaskets and everything else(egr cooler, ford gaskets, and all of the goodies) from Bullet Proof Diesel. Started tearing down my engine yesterday and noticed it has all ready been head studded. So I thought my egr cooler has to be bad well guess what NO EGR COOLER! It has all ready been deleted. What the hell now?? I also ordered a new degas bottle and ford cap so I am hopeing that will fix it. I guess who ever had this truck before me did this engine right. Any other sugestions?

First see if it still blows coolant out after get new degas cap. Even though your truck is head studded you still can have head gaskets go out.

Did you make sure your heads aren't warped?

I never pulled the heads. I just noticed who ever had the truck before me had all ready head studded it.

Could still be a head gasket. A lot of people are having problems with the Black Onyx head gaskets.

True. I'd have the heads checked before a put new gaskets in though.

The truck in my sig is currently in the shop for gaskets and studs |

If your truck is egr deleted the PO had to have tuned it. Did you get a tuner with the truck? I've heard of shoddy tunes lifting the heads on trucks with arps, it's hard to do and unlikely, but not impossible.

Yes the truck has a Banks 6 Gun on it. I have never turned it on. It stays on the first setting.

![]() Check your heads, pull the studs and check their length, threads against your new ones and make sure they aren't damaged, and go from there. Hopefully it's just the studs and gaskets since you already have new ones. Good luck and keep us posted |
