front seal replacement ??

I am in the middle of replacing my front seal,the workshop manual references to apply loctite 262 on the leading edge of the crankshaft.I cant fine loctite 262,was wondering if permatex red thread sealant is and ok alternative ? I was able to buy it at autozone. thanks

The permatex red is fine as long as it is the high strength
