Is restore the only thing that will clean out the radiator. I called some semi truck dealers and they are using some stuff called ERF. Has anyone tried this or anything else for that matter. Also how do you know you are at 185 or 190 degrees. Last but not least do or don't you take out the t-stat. It would drain faster but wouldn't it take longer to heat up and get the restore to work?

Never heard of it and a Google search led nowhere. Use the Restore.

Take the thermostat out. Block off the radiator with cardboard an go for a ride.
