New cooling fan clutch question?
Called the dealer to buy a new fan clutch and they asked me if I had the snow plow package. Got me thinking what is the difference and is there any advantage to running the snow plow fan clutch??
Thanks |

I can't answer the snow plow question. however, don't get raped at the dealer for the clutch fan! My dealer wanted $480!
I got a brand new motorcraft clutch fan (non-snowplow) from dieselfiltersonline for $251 shipped! |

Well it was trousley ford parts that is the only dealer I have been dealing with I think they wanted $284. That is a great price at dieselfliters

I have a snowplow on my pickup and doubt I have the "Snowplow Fan Clutch." Does anyone know the difference between the normal one and the snowplow one? Second question would be, do I need one?
Thanks |

A very close friend of mine had an 05 F350 without the plow fan clutch and he used it for plowing. He would always have troubles on the highway where the plow would deflect air away from the radiator leading to the truck getting very hot. He switched to the plow fan clutch and it was like night and day. The truck's fan came on sooner and cooled much more rapidly. Coolant temps dropped 20+ degrees.
Highly recommended. |
