Question Old man needs to ask a question

OK... Been reading till my eyes are red... I have a 2007 F350 Crew Cab Dually, we use it to pull our 15K 5th wheel. Truck is stock for now, just got my SCT and my 4" MBRP exhaust. Loaded up the 50hp tow tune that came of my unit. Drives nice, but have not towed with it yet... Or should I???

Is is safe to run the stock tow tunes from the sf3... on a stock 6.0? I know I need to get the head studs and egr delete, etc. (planning on it, just got to save up) Oh yea I know I need gauges too, just got to get the $$$...

Going to pick up my 5th wheel saturday from the dealer and want to test out the tow tunes if it is safe... Will be a fairly level pull at around 70 miles...

Yea your tow tune will be fine

06 F-250 ccsb King Ranch, 2011 KR interior AC seats, door panels, 3" RC lift, SCT X3, WILDMAN tune, bumpers, Edge CTS, AMSOIL bypass kit, pillar gauges, ARPs, Warren 155s, egr delete, 4" exhaust...the list goes on and on

Your best best would be to get a custom tune from one of the many tuners on here.

Vivian@Quicktricks
Matt@Gearhead
Eric@innovative

Their is a night and day difference between any "canned" tune and a custom tune built just for your truck.

I wouldn't worry too much about head gaskets you should be fine as long as you watch your EGTs. Make sure your oil cooler is in good health and and EGR delete would be a very good investment.
Bottom line, as long as your truck is in good health a custom tune will not hurt it unless you yourself are abusing your truck (which i'm sure your not)
As far as canned tunes go, a 50 or 65hp SCT canned tune will not hurt it, its just that a custom tune is so much better!!

Yep, custom tunes is what I want, but was thinking about getting my upgrades done first...

Its not the tow tune you should be worried about, its the deltas and EGT temp

you can do some monitoring with the SCT and a laptop just to see some temperature spreads
