Trans cooler filter removed before flushing?

I changed oil in my 6.0 this morning. While under the hood I noticed a decal I hadn't paid attention to before. Since I plan to flush my cooling system soon I thought it was probably important. This is what is says:

CAUTION
External Transmission Filter
Installed in cooler line
Filter must not be installed when
flushing the cooling system.

XC3P-9C34-AB
Tansmission Pan Decal

I have not read anything about this filter in the flushing posts. It sounds like something I need to remove prior to flushing the system? Any hints on where it might be located?

If are flushing the engine cooling system then there are no worries because this filter is just an external filter for trans fluid if you are flushing the trans fluid then yes remove this filter

What is confusing me is that is says "flushing the cooling system". I wonder if there is a separate trans cooler on my truck, and that is what they are talking about, flushing the trans cooler system, and not engine coolant?

I ordered my truck with every option but the PTO and moonroof, including all of the heavy duty packages, camper package, etc. I wonder if there is some type of trans cooler installed? I will have to look at my build sheet later and see if I can see anything.

Thanks for the help.

Yes they are referring to the trans cooling system the only part of that system that even comes near the engine cooling system is the trans cooler thats internal in your radiator

Thanks. I figured that might be the case, but I didn't want to flush my cooling system without being sure.
