why a 6.0?

Ok, so I have owned an 07 6.0 now for almost a year. I have done everyhing to it preventativly. I did the EGR delete, Coolant filter, ELC Coolant, ARP head studs with OEM gaskets, upgraded oil cooler, upgraded STC fittings and dummy plugs, Blue spring upgrade, 6.4 banjo bolts, zoodad mod, SCT Tuner with Gear Head tunes, Edge Insight CTS, 5" turbo back straight exhaust, and Banks high ram intake. All that being said, I love the truck. It's funny cause I was always Chevy guy till I did hard research on diesels. The 6.0 seemed like the best bang for your buck with known, understood problems with solutions. So the question I pose to you all is: Why a 6.0? Please share your thoughts on why you like your 6.0 and why you wouldn't trade it for anyhing else. There are far too many posts about all the bad and problems, almost enough to make you a paranoid wreck about owning one.

The raw good ole power. I like how it produces power opposed to the newer style hpcr fuel systems. Plus the look of my 05 f250 Harley makes me smile daily. Wouldn't trade it for anything it's sitting at 145,000kms(about 90,000 miles) and I hope to have it well past 200,000 miles.

great thread ! i never owned a diesel but working on a drilling rig with free diesel all around me and watching all my buddies getting free fuel aqnd filling there slip tanks i had enough . i went looking for my first diesel . i had it in my mind i wanted a dodge , bc of all the brain washing from my pals ...but once i started looking i found there were none within my price range that were worth buying . seems like they were overpriced .then i noticed alot of 6.0 for sale and cheap compared to others on the market . i came across the right one and bought it . after getting it home i wanted to do some research on it ...found out all the stuff people say about the 6.0 and got worried ...but after learning myself how everything works on these trucks i found that they were easy to work on and easy to make reliable . with that being said i love my 6.0 and will drive it until it dies . also all the dodge guys at the rig are loving the 6.0 now and one even traded his in for a 6.0 ....go figure

The 05-07 Superdutys are THE best looking Superduty's. Also, how easy it is to turn a stocker into a mustang/camaro killing machine Love my 6 OH

I started looking for a diesel because I needed a plow/blower truck and wanted something I could run on veggie oil. I didn't really have a preference, but really liked the look of the fords best out of the three.

I found this one and actually my wife test drove it first and fell in love with it. Once I got it and got on the .ORG, i was pretty stressed about what I had gotten myself into. I think I've done most of the big stuff and learning how easy it is to work on this engine had really made me more comfortable.

I still have that little voice in the back of my head telling me something is going to happen, but for now, I love the power and I don't even have a tuner (yet) and the fact that I can get close to 20mpg in a giant pickup! I think the interior is the nicest around and the little towing I have done with it has been great.

My good friend/motor builder told me to never buy a 6.0 so I did. Lol. Got it for a great price. Yes it turned out to need a motor and a couple other things. I bought an extended warranty and it saved me a couple times. Now that it is running great I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!!! I love my 6.0
