A coworker of mine has a 2005 F350 XL extended cab, 4x4, with an 8ft bed. It has 240k miles and everything works great except for the HPFP just went out a few weeks ago. She is trying to get rid of it but wants $1500 for it. Would this be a good price? How difficult is it for me to replace the HPFP if I'm not in a hurry to get this thing up and running. The dealership wants $3k to fix it, but I think I can do it myself if I just take my time and find parts at the junkyard.

What do y'all think?

Nope, 2 zeroes... 1500. Last week she said she figured $500 but had to check with her husband first. They bought it a year and a half ago for $1200 but it had no bed.. They have since added the rear bench seat (since it was missing), the 8ft bed, and replaced both batteries.

I'm guessing that you mean HPOP..... if so, it's not a hard job, just takes a while because you have to pull everything that's on top of the engine.

You can get a HPOP for a grand and sell the truck for 8-10k easily

Well sounds like the overwhelming consensus is go for it. And yes I did mean HPOP... and the acronyms start to get to you after a while when you are use to 6.4 and have friends with 7.3s and a few coworkers with 6.0s.

The answer is hell yes, not just yes. And post pics please, I wanna see this $1500 truck. You are a lucky man if you can get that truck for the price.
