Snapon mt2500 will it work on 6.0,s

I have an older snapon brick scanner. The mt 2500, I use it for my 7.3 engines. Supposedly the scanner is good thru 2005. Normally I use the f2 key for it. It would not read a friends 2003 6.0. I may be buying one and want to chect eot versus ect before I get one. The scanner stated not communicating use a 17 key. Anyone familiar with this?
