6.0L longevity

Im looking to purchase a used Earthroamer and there are several rigs with the 6.0L engine available. I'd prefer the 6.0L because of the ULSD issue(I want to take it south of the border). The two rigs I'm considering are an '05 with 75k miles and an '07 with 100k miles.

Both vehicles have been meticulously maintained and driven mostly highway with an offroad trip here and there. Are the mileage totals worrisome on these two vehicles? What's the useable life of an F-550/6.0L that's been taken care of properly? Would the '07 be a safer bet given the 6.0L's history. Thanks for any help.

Checkout the sticky for all the needed upgrades for different year models, but no 6.0 will last more than 110,000 miles....just kidding there are tons in the upper 200k range and quite a few in the low 300 range. It all depends on maintenance as these are high maintenance queens

Don't let the good maintenance fool you. Took care of mine religiously and it ended up springing oil leaks everywhere at 85-96k miles. U gotta check those deltas, oasis and most importantly look underneath with a flash light around the rear oil pan and towards the heads. Good luck!
