Hey guys, I am starting a build on my 04 standard cab 2wd 6.0 I think I had a lifter go out on my truck, but I had a back up motor so I am bulletproofing this one to put in and fix the old motor for a rainy day.
The build is going to be in a few stages, and I am hoping to bulletproof the motor, and eventually have it near 600rwhp for under 4,500 bucks. (not including tranny).
Here is the start of it. I welded up my egr. Please keep in mind I'm trying to make this low budget and egr delete eats up money put somewhere else.
Excuse the weld. My first one with stainless with my spool gun. If I had a tig it would be pretty. And yes both ends are welded up. I had some 10 gauge stainless laying around so I used that. The Vband side has about a quarter inch of weld in it also. (Trying to hold up to the heat)
Here is the weld ground down.
Now my intake. This is done with a simple mill drill. I ran out of time today to clean up the bottom of it and shave the columns inside. I will be mig welding the top back on and cover plate. And yes this is inspired by gogo's design.
I had my heads checked. They were out by 6 thousandths and had no cracks. Now milled flat and ready to go back on.
If anybody has a set of arp's sitting around I need em.

It's going to get studs and factory head gaskets. I want to put a cst on it and we'll see how the oil cooler is doing before I go and buy one of those.
I just want to get the truck back up and running for now. But after it is back in it's going to get injectors, a bullseye 66, and aeromotive fuel pump for the fuel system. I am also going to build a giant stainless steel fuel cell.
I have a short bed and 2011 tailgate, tailights, and bumper for it also. But I think I am going to go prerunner with it. So I am going to send that stuff down the river. Eventually it will be a prerunner on 37's long travel equal length beams with swingset steering. But for now it will be the raked farm truck for now.
Here is a pic of it when I bought it. It was a construction truck, I got a great deal on it for 5,500 a couple years ago.
That's it for today, but more to come in the near future!
