05 F250 King Ranch or 06 F250 FX4

After reading many threads about the 6.0s, and trying to decide to go F150. I've decided on the F250. I like the diesel and the F150 beds are to short, I'm in a construction field. I'm torn between 2 trucks. A 2005 F250 King Ranch with added dvd system and reverse camera, spray in bed liner, and sunroof. It has 105k miles and is listed at $21k. Or a 2006 F250 FX4 with the same interior (different leather of course), stock radio, no sunroof, no spray in bed liner. It has 81k miles and is listed at $24k. Both have running boards. I can't make up my mind if I should go a little cheaper for the slightly higher mileage King Ranch or slightly more expensive FX4 with better suspension and skid plates? Any ideas?

Not a big difference in mileage, and only a few grand. Just pic the one you really want, it sounds to me like the KR. But, you are in construction, so maybe the FX4, but the skid plates aren't a big deal.

Do you need 4x4? If so that answers your question doesn't it.

You can beat the KR leather seats!!! As for the FX4 package, those Ranchero shocks are just Ford OEM shocks painted and stickers put on them.

I have the 06 Lariat, has all the bells and whistles
I have been told the only difference between the Lariat and the King Ranch is the leather and badging. And a few $$$.
We have been very happy with it so far.
Have had it for about 14 months and put about 11,000 on it. had 59,000 on it when we bought it.

The only thing that really seems to make any real price difference in my area is mileage

When looking for the truck saw several KR's same year, more miles, more money. Just $2k or so but still, it let me get my gauges and a few other goodies for it. "Look honey, I got the cheaper truck so I can get the things the truck needs to safely tow your trailer."

Test drive them both with a monitoring system and check your deltas ficm voltage etc. Run oasis reports on both see if there is anything there.

Given all the info you may have a clear choice

Just my 2 cents

My 05 is a F-350 King Ranch FX4 and I love it, I bought it with 105000.0 miles on it less than a year ago and now has 160000.0 miles. The king Ranch is a Lariat with just different leather seat, trim and badging.
