Sinister coolant filter kit fluke, Watch Out For This!
I was in the driveway today installing my Sinister coolant filter kit and noticed something that could have ruined my weekend...
They neglected to crimp the ferrule on the heater hose tee fitting and I just barely caught it before tightening everything down. I would have likely blown the hose off and who knows what else. ![]() I called them up and they offered to send me a new one of course. I had already cut my hose and moved my coolant valve so I didn't want to wait until tommorrow ( I have to get to work somehow). Luckily a 5/8" Pex crimper (for plumbing) will put a perfect crimp on these. Moral of the story... CHECK THE FITTINGS on this kit before you start this project. Sinister isn't the only one using crimped hoses so this applies to all brands. |

Thanks for the heads up. Glad you caught that. And I'm glad sinister is taking care of you as well.

There are a couple flukes in these coolant filters but Sinister does stand behind it! My valves where leaking from where you turn them on and off! I called them and they over nighted me ones for free! They have great customer service so you cant be too mad at them! They even offered to send me a whole new kit but i did not feel like pulling my kit off to replace it so i just had them send me the valves and replaced them!
