Mystery Harness

I'm installing an alarm/remote start into my wife's '04 X 6.0. I needed a tach input and was told that I could use a wire from a 5-pin harness taped up just above the emergency brake pedal. I found the harness in the truck, but I can't find the harness or any of the wires anywhere in my factory wiring diagram manual. Does anyone know what the other wires are for or what the connector/harness designation is so I can attempt to locate it in the wiring diagrams?

Thanks,

Those wires are right where you described. They are dead-ended with black shrink wrap on the ends of them...

NYC,

Yep, got the wires, just wondering what the others wires were for or what signals they carried.

Still have yet to figure this one out. Searches turn up almost nothing. I'm still surprised that my wiring manual doesn't reference them at all. Any ideas?

One is tach, one is high idle, one is pto. Im not sure about the others but most of that harness is for ambulance or wrecker applications.

Well, that narrows it down somewhat. Thanks for the input. Maybe I can find a wiring diagram for an F-450/550 chassis cab that might be more elightening.

Thanks again.

Do a google search for f250 customer access circuits. I was able to find info using that search but wasn't able to narrow it down to your particular year. If you compare the wire colors you have to some of the online docs you might be able to figure it out. CTO "Clean Tach Out" is the wire you want for the tach signal.

It should be somewhere in the upfitters guide, available on Ford's website. I'll grab you a link to the 04 version as get home, I have them bookmarked.

Sorry, what i'm finding doesn't really help either. I need the pages before and after what Ford has available online. In later versions it has a list of circuits and their wire colors. Older ones seem to be missing this. In any case, the CTO (Clean Tach Out) wire on an 04 is Light Green with White Tracer.
