Finally decided to do it!
Well I just took my truck yesterday evening to my diesel mechanic. He will be putting 8 new injectors in, new water pump, head gaskets, ARP head studs, and changing the fuel pressure from 35-75 psi. And I will be getting a year warranty with all of it. I cant wait to get it back! I thought he gave me a pretty good price also. $3000 for parts and labor, $1500 up front and $1500 when I pick it up.

Yea I would say that that price is a little too good for all of that. Just the parts are more than $3000.

I know! I tried to figure it out. Idk what hes paying for the parts, or if he is trading the old injectors for cores or what. But he did tell me he wasn't making much off labor. Ive had him do some work for me before and he has done work on some of my buddies trucks and he is pretty good and knows what he is doin so I said its all yours man.

GEEZ where is this guy?!?!?!? The diesel mechanics around here tell me it $4000 just to do the head studs alone.

I paid 6000 and I knew the mechanic well. But that was stc fitting head gaskets, rebuilt oil cooler head studs. Shop wanted 12,000 LOL

WOW! He said he would have it ready in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Is that a good turn around time? He has to order parts so I guess he has to wait on them. And this is his side job he has another job so he does this in the evening and all.

Where in Middle GA? For that cheap I might have to drive down and let him have my truck to work on.

Im paying a guy $1500 labor to do studs and gaskets only. I already have my egr deleted and a new oil cooler. He says it should take only 2 days. I have to supply all the parts. Im happy with my price. It costs just over 1k in parts to do just the head gaskets not including machining work on the heads. It seems you got a very good price. Is he putting in OEM gaskets? You may wanna check on that.
