Its Back...!!!
...in my driveway!!!
Don't know if anyone followed my short thread in the problems forum, but I had noticed the infamous tea kettle noise and spotted bubbles in my degas bottle a few weeks back. After some investigation, I brought in into my Ford dealer and had a recommended master tech confirm that the gaskets were toasted. On Friday I dropped it off to him with new ARPs and a River City EGR delete I found on Craigslist (ended up that it was my neighbor selling it). He started in on Friday and was done today! He also found a cut O-ring on the camshaft position sensor (leaking oil), an almost hole in a radiator hose rubbing against the steering box, a clamp rubbing against the belt, as well as updated the STC fitting, dummy plugs/standpipes, HPOP screen, and return/feed lines. Believe it or not, the heads checked out okay after magnaflux and were cleaned/decked as well. Very good job by the tech, I would also recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone near the Lafayette IN area. Matt @ Gearhead has been contacted and a SRL tune package is on its way to me as well as a coolant filter setup from Performance Machine! Glad shes done and this hopefully will be behind me for a long time if not forever...

You shut your mouth!...
![]() ![]() I plan on changing the transmission fluid/filters and diff. oil next, try my hardest to make sure the driveline stays okay (what I figure will give me trouble next!). I also plan on running the Ford gold with filter until I put some miles on it, then eventually change it out to the ELC. Deltas were great before the job and seem to be just as good if not better now... |

![]() ![]() Ya Id just put new coolant without using Restore or Restore Plus and all that crap. If your temps are good, just use water to flush, or just dump old coolant out, and put new coolant in. That way you dont jar any dirt loose and clog your oil cooler. Changing all the fluids is the first thing I did when I bought mine. The smartest and easiest thing one could do. |
