Confused about my turbo
I have an 05 f350 as does my friend. We both have 4 inch straight pipe. We both have same mods. My turbo is WAY louder than his. My motor is COMPLETELY new including accessories and turbo. His is the original motor/turbo. The part number on the turbo is 1854593c91. Not sure what his is. Is it possible I have an 03 remanned turbo? Both of us are stumped.

Check the rear turbo mounting bolt. On the 03 turbo all three mounting bolts are horizontal, and the later turbo's have horizontal front bolts and a vertical rear bolt.

I've had people tell me my truck is loud compared to other late trucks with straight pipes. No idea why really.
infact we just had an 05 in the shop last week with a straight pipe. It was no where near as abnoxious as my truck |

Are you guys even running the same tune? I know just changing tunes made my turbo spool faster and sound louder

If you've ever ridden in his truck do you notice if his turbo spools faster or slower than yours. I just had my 03 in for a failed turbo and they put a remanned newer one in (a little smaller than the 03 one) but the new one spools a lot faster. Could be the fact that you guys have different turbos because i get more turbo whistle with the newer turbo as well.
