I need some help, when using the distilled it only took 4 gallons... do I only need to put 2.5 gallons of coolant?

No... I think its 3.5 gallons (check the procedure) of coolant...

When you flush there is water left in the block. So when you put x amount of coolant in you bring the mixture to 50/50..

At the end you might only need to add a gallon or two of water.

Its been such a long freaking day that I didn't think it all the way through, I got to thinking and I know I didn't not get all of it drained out. I just a a retard moment

Its all flushed and it took forever. Just drove 100miles to hang with my girlfriend and but some filter miles on the new coolant. Non of the temps have changed any, if anything, it stays cooler I just need to quit getting so paranoid lol

How important is the heat shielding on the ypipe? My dad has it in his head that it is impossible to do the down pipes with it there.

Huh I think I put mine back in when I put the truck together...

I would be worried of the heat burning the firewall insulation if the heat shield wasn't installed.
