Signs of sticking egr valve??
Just curious what some signs of that may be? I'm going to pull mine off and clean it either way but the truck sometimes seems like its kind of missing but not all the time so I'm hoping it's the egr valve.

Having an EGR valve stick in the open or partially open condition is quite common. Mine idled like crap and as soon as I gave it some throttle it would die. The EGR valve can be a royal pita to get out. A little trick I do that works every time is to take a length of 2X4 and put one end on the top edge of the firewall then rotate your EGR valve a little so you can loop heavy wire over the 2X4 to the hold down tabs of the EGR valve then lift. The EGR valve pops out like a champaign bottle cork.

I will be stealing your 2x4 method when I go to do the egr delete next weekend
![]() The last time i had it out it was a real pita. Took lots of turning, two crows feet, and huge flat head and a spare person.

Yah I have a permanent spot for my 2X4 on my tools peg board. I even used a router to carve "Snap-On" in it.
