Do I really Want a 6.0 in My Life?

New to this forum, I have a chance to pick up a '08 e350 cargo van with a bad motor for 2,900 bucks. I have found a few donor motors but can the 6.0 really be made bullet proof? Better off with a 7.3? My intent is to use this van as a camper but there seems to be many problems with the 6.0 motor . . . . thanks!

Unless the Eseries are different than the F series, it should have a 6.4 in it, or am I wrong?

As far as 6.0 v. 7.3, stock form it's the 7.3. But you bullet proof a 6.0, tune it, hands down it's the VT365.

My understanding is that this is the 6.0 engine vs the 6.4 -

A. Yup, in the van a 6.0. Hey, as far as the motors go. Freaking go with the 6.0 If you have it out, yuo can do the right mods make it last 300+

I have recomended the 6L to many people and they love them with no issues. Now if you have a company and have many different 18 year olds driving your truck, yea, better get a gasser.

Best mods? New head gasket, new head bolts, block egr and a tuner? Flush coolant and install the right stuff - anything else? Thanks!

Well, I studded mine before I understood the 6L. I truly feel that the issue was the coolant failing and clogging the oil cooler. I would say best mod was EGR delete and ELC.

its the cheapest mod you can do too lol wish thats all it took to make these great trucks.... but no gotta do studs and delete this and oil cooler that injector here hpop there and lets not forget the programers from this one and that one... yeah get the van join the crowed hope you like beer or whiskey your gonna become a drinker once you buy it
