turbo silencer ring

Has anyone taken the silencer ring out of their turbo, if so how did you do it. Did the turbo sound ok after removal. Well after most of the week I finally got all new injectors in, new oil cooler and blue spring, two screws stripped in the IPR cover so I have to go to a bigger screw and tap the hole, I hate aluminum after you take the screws out several times the threads start to go.

It looks like you have an '03, the '03' just pop off. The late '04-'07 need to be machined out. There is really no gain in whistle. The whistle comes from the exhaust side (turbine wheel).

Silencer Ring ?

My II stage 1 doesn't have the ring either, no whistle gain.
