I'm willing to trade my 06 turbo with 55K miles for your 03 Turbo. My turbo was cleaned by the dealer 10K ago when I had my EGR Cooler replaced. I would like a turbo with low miles as possible and it must be in good condition. What do you guys have to offer out there? Can't wait for that whistle!!

I know it's been asked before but I've still never seen it (not saying it doesn't exist) but is there any data (HP/TQ, 1/4 mile times, trap speed) to back up the claim that the 03 and early 04 turbos are superior?
On a side note; I don't care about the whistle so if that's the only reason then not a big deal for me. Thanks |

You dont need an 03 urbon for all that. Just replace you compressor wheel. And yes there is.data out there about our.turbos but.there is much more that that about.our trucks that make them reliable. Like our round egr cooler for one.

Do you know where this data can be found that supports the 03 turbo being better because I hear this a lot but can never find it. I'm probably just not looking in the right place but any info would be useful, and if for nothing else, than just for a good toilet room reading

The whistle comes from the turbine wheel (exhaust side). Even if you just replace the turbine side, you will need to get it balanced, that's why the bolt going thru the turbine wheel is shaved off, they remove material to balance the wheel.
