2007 Navigator Trim Piece Removal

Didn't know where to post this so I figured I go with general discussion. This question is regarding my dads 07 Lincoln Navigator. He accidentally snapped the clips off the trim piece that holds the power seat buttons. He went to Ford and got a new trim piece and now we can't figure out how to get the switches off of the old piece. I have pictures below where you can see the new and old trim pieces and we can't figure out how to remove the switches to put them on the new piece. We tried prying them, sliding them all around, pulling, etc. but no luck. I don't want to break anything. Any advice is appreciated.
