Brake petal

I've been having to press the brake petal down very hard to get the truck into gear, it seem to be getting worse...anyone have this problem or know what is the fix? Thanks...

Sounds like a brake switch issue. Since you have to have the brake depressed to engage the gear selector, that is what I would suspect. At night, back up to the garage or something and slowly press down on the brake. Make sure your brake lights are coming on when you brake lightly. If not, that could also be a safety issue.

Brake lights come on as soon as i step on the petal...I'm wondering if it is something mechanical at the steering column...
