I just finished a whole pile of work on my F350. Injectors, EGR delete (made by Bernhausen) Stainless up pipe replacment (made by Bernhausen) oil cooler replacement, oil updates, SCT tuner and Swamps 58V FICM.
Although I did not get the work done by Bernhausen Diesel, I did buy all the parts from them, and had them run some diagnostic tests. The day I came to pick up the parts (all were in stock, I just had to get there), the owner (Sat Bernhausen) was making the EGR delete kit for me. Everything was top notch, excellent, fit and finish. Service was 110%. Sat was a wealth of knowledge, he definatly knows his s**t when it comes to diesels, especially ford diesels. For that matter any of his techs that I talked to while I was hanging around really knew their ford diesels as well. Everybody there was extremley good at what they do. Anyways, for any of you in Canada, or near the border, these guys are excellent to deal with, I would recommend them withought hesiation. Top notch service and very very knowledgable. There, that's my plug. Oh yeah they hooked me up with the SCT "Jake Brake" add on for my tow tunes......freaking awsome. |

It's always good to hear of success stories and excellent customer service! Glad you were treated well. How's that jake brake feature on the tune? How does that replace the $1400 part you'd have to buy to get the same results??

That is exactly why I wanted to share my experience, so that others can hopefully have the same experience.
The Jake Brake tune, controlls the vains on the stock VGT turbo to create back pressure on the engine creating a load on the "unloaded" cylinders. It works really well so long as your RPM's are high....the case with any engine brake. The nice thing is that it's very effective in tow/haul but barely noticable with tow/haul off. I've been running the 65hp tow tune as my DD (the 100hp street somehow creates a heavy weight on my right foot) Buuuuut I'm sure the proper exhaust brake would be more effective in braking, since that is what it was designed for. |
