Seeing Smoke ...
So, @ 50K miles, I'm noticing some smoke ..
1) When "getting on it" (like 20 psi Boost & 3K RPM), it'll leave a puff of black smoke when it really starts to throttle-up, then it stops smoking. 2) On a cold morning @ start up, it'll puff out a cloud of blueish-white smoke that has that sweet diesel smell. I run an Edge Insight ... all temps are in spec & hadn't had any codes in a long time. International 6.0 runs good overall. What is the smoke trying to tell me? |

My understanding is this is normal. I forget the reason for the white/blueish smoke on cold mornings but everyone says it normal.

Nope ... stock 'cept for a coolant filter. My edge is just for gauges.

I'd say your good as long as you delta's are good. The blueish smoke is just due to the cold cylinder temps.

I thought the sweet smell was coolant. I'd Pull out your egr valve and see if its wet in there?
