05 oil leak

I just bought an 05 f250 it has 99000 on it and found that theres a small oil leak in the rear of the engine running down the trannie(i think not very mechanically educated) I have been reading alot on here and sounds like either a rear main seal or bedplate gasket but looks higher then that, anyways my question is what kinda costs should i prepare for??

Thanks for all the help

Get it checked before you prepare to spend. I use to be terrified when I saw an oil leak in that area, but all have turned out to be something very small on top of the motor running thru the engine valley to the back off the motor. Could be small or could be major, never know! More than likely a gasket or a seal on something!
