Looking at 04-06 6.0's

HI,

I am wanting to purchase a 6.0L Truck soon, I don't want to buy one that I will run into serious trouble with. I have access to a bully dog Triple dog gt tuner gauge, Should I bring this along to look at trucks to check temps of eot and ect. Is there any other Questions or things I should look at on the Truck to decide if it is going to be a truck that wont need vast maintenance from the get go. I am looking for one with less that 1250,000 miles on it.

Only a wise man would take a good set of gauges with him and plug into the OBDII port to see if he is going to spend another $5000 to fix the motor so gauges will tell you the health of the motor and get a Oasis Report to see if it was a problem child.

It ought to be pretty easy to find one with less than 1250,000 miles on it jk man

Definitely check the temps with and if it will show you FICM voltage, ICP voltage too, that would be good to look at as well.

and you will want to be able to put the pedal down. When looking at my 550, it ran pretty good, temps were within spec until I finally put the pedal down, then bleh!!! white smoke and loss of power. egr cooler.

I got it through a dealer and its a long story, but if it happens to you its not the end of the world. When I bought mine it had been rebuilt to my specs. Full bulletproof, arp studs, oem gaskets, CAT coolant vc9 flush, on and on and on... dealer - 0 me -1

2004 f-350 scsb 5.4l
2004 f-550 rcdump 6.0l
full bulletproof with oil bypass filter. PMM coolant filter. Arp studs, OEM gaskets, all ford updates.
