ckyguy68- Q for you. Pull engine out through engine bay?
Looking at your picture from another thread, do you think the engine could come out through the front of the truck? Take the hood off, pull the trans or maybe leave it in the truck and lift the engine up out through the top of the core support, with the center removed like in the picture? (Like most other vehicles can be done.)
Keep in mind, I would be using a air powered chain fall, not a cherry picker. I'm thinking they don't really go high enough. |

When I replaced the engines in TWO 6.0s
I pulled out BOTH the engine and the tranny together through the front of the truck

Hell yeah! Why don't more people do this? If a guy has a lift is it really that much easier to lift the cab?
I don't and won't have a lift anytime soon, like never, so if I have to do HGs and studs, this is how I will do it. Maybe rebuild the trans and engine while I'm at it.... Thanks for clearing that up and the pic is great!! |

I heard it is easier to lift the cab...But I Dont have a lift
![]() Yeah, if you are going to rebuild the tranny and stuff I believe pulling is a great option... It takes about a day to take everything apart. A weekend or two for the average person |
