2003 HPOP R&R question

I just removed my turbo and found that the intake manifold goes across the top of the HPOP cover. Will the cover come off without removing the intake manifold? The pictures and videos that I have seen have all been 05 or newer and didn't have this. I didn't realize this was different.

From what I have seen, no, the intake must come off. Is that a tube or a solid brace back there? If its a solid brace, mine is going to have a talk with my sawzall.

I'd ditch that EGR cooler while you are in there. I found throttle response when I ditched mine.

That is a cross tube of some sort for the intake manifold. I live in California, so I can't really change much with the EGR because of emissions testing.

no you have to completely remove the intake manifold. the crossover is not solid, you're better off finding a late intake and just swapping it over since you have to remove it either way

Would I have to change anything else besides the manifold or does everything fit?
