SCT tuner problems... whats wrong?
Hey everybody Ive just recieved my SCT SF3 and am following the directions included in the packaging. After i plug it in to the computer and insert the cd for initailization or whatever it just wont load any device drivers. It says...
"Device driver was not successfully installed. Please consult with your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed." all my firewalls are off and ive checked a few things over and cant figure out what is going wrong. Any tips from you guys who have already done this or have any of you experienced this? Thanks in advance. |

I'd try to get on the sct website and download the drivers straight desktop and install from there. Could be different download for your operating system.. Just a thought.

I've had issues before with SCT files and programming. Sometimes you have to get files that aren't available on the website. Call them and they will help you through it.

Windows based PC?
Plug the unit in without the CD in the drive the drivers should load automatically. If not go here sctflash.com Go to tech support. Click downloads select your device and download the drivers |

Elvis: Rather be safe than sorry ya know... just following the directions. BUT... Thanks for the info guys. I downloaded all the info off the site and directly to my desktop. Everything went smooth from there. I think the CD they sent was crap... But thank god for you guys. Im not the best at this techy stuff. I dont even have a computer at my house, im on my bro in laws. so thanks again and problem solved... for now.

Copy that. Unless you need to load custom tunes it should be good to go with the canned tunes.
May need to update it at some time, but for now you should be good.

So HOLY BALLS!!!! Loaded the performance tune this morning and got to play around with the truck some today... I absolutely LOVE the feeling of being slammed back into my seat when I hit the gas... I have not even floored it yet or been past 20 lbs of boost yet. Just half throttle passing people and stuff in the city. Thanks for the help last night guys... This SCT was Sooooo worth it. Lol.
Edit: I don't like not being able to lower the tire revs per mile lower than 600. I hand xalculated it at 570 but it shifts pretty good at 600. Last edited by RhynoNC; 03-07-2012 at 03:27 PM. |
