motor is toasted!!

well i think i locked the motor up! driving along, wasn't beating on it or anything.. ran ****ty for about a second and then just shut down.. i coasted it to the side of the road and started looking it over.. pretty steady stream of oil coming out of the back of motor on the ground..

tried turning it over and wouldn't really turn over like it had dead batteries.. well called a buddy to come jump it. when it was turning over it had a bad knock in the motor.. so im pretty sure its toasted..

any thoughts or imput on where i should start? im on a pretty limited budget and will be tearing into this thing in my driveway! its an 03 f-350.

Check the ICP sensor - behind/below the turbo.

X2 on that. Is it reading HPOP when cranking? You said you see oil coming out? Where from exactly?

Havent a clue other than it could be anything. What symptoms other than running bad before shut down? EOT, ECT? Bad fuel, maybe hydro locked?

not sure where the oil is coming from but its alot.. its drippn off the pan in the rear.. i couldn't get it to crank long enough to read pressure on the gauge. the knocking sounds bad!

i did just have the turbo off as well. what would cause the loud knock though? and def won't fire up.. lol

It could be a leak in the oil supply to the turbo as well.

Not so sure about the knock.

no symtoms, no check lights.. was running great all day long.. just going down road started to feel under powered and she just shut down.. all the temps were fine..

Can you have someone crank while you listen for where the knock is coming from (ie turbo, block, etc)?
