6.0 tea kettle

I recently purchased a 2004 6 liter knowing all the possible issues associated with the engine. I bought this truck in November with 71k on the speedometer. Tomorrow will be the third time its been to the dealer! I originally took it in for an oil leak and coolant loss. The first time they replaced all intercooler hoses, metal coldside, egr quick connect hose and crankshaft sensor o ring. After getting it home I still had an oil leak, loosing coolant and the tea kettle noise when coming to a stop or shutting it down. I took it back and they replaced the rear main seal and an egr valve gasket. I picked it up Friday and when I got home it started whistling again!! The coolant level in the degas bottle is about 1 inch from min at operating temp. By the way its not running hot by the factory temp gauge and my mileage keeps going up everytime I take it in!! Any ideas????

tea kettle noise is usually related to hg failure. you can get a block check kit that checks for gasses in the hg. if there is gasses in there then you have blown hg. dont go by the factory temp gauge. it is pretty much worthless

Thanks!! The head gaskets have been my thought all along!!! I bought a Ford extended warranty with this truck and I think that is why the dealer is dragging their feet!!
