in desperate need of key. help

i lost my keys today while wheeling off road and waiting to get pulled out, while a friend was getting pulled out. well i lost my keys and i need to know how much a replacement is (if anyone has had one made at ford. it is the only key i had and i have to have my truck towed to a parking lot that was close and it is there untill i get another key. hoping they can make me one with my vin.

See if a friend has a metal detector. Might have luck finding them.
Just a thought on a weekend.

Went to harbor frieght and bougt a metal dector for 40 bucks after about an hour of scanning, q coat hangar, 3 crushed beer cans , and what looked like someone had dumped oil full of metal shavings I found them under 2 inches of packed mud. They had been run over a few times. Washed them off in a puddle and drove the truck home. Yay. Took the remote apart and cleaned it let it dry put back together and it works as well. All and all not too bad other than the 150 for towing to a parking lot from the off road place

Get you a spare key made!! They are very cheap as the Super Duties had not started using PATS keys (passive anti theft system) at your year model. You could go to Walmart and have one or two made for less than $10.00. The remote can be found on Ebay and you can program it yourself.

I agree, get spares made for a couple bux. I did that, have a spare remote too, and a key by itself just incase. Makes life easier, than wondering about if you locked your keys inside or lost em temporarily,

Thanks guys and yes I will be at wart tomorrow getting keys made at least 3 one for the wallet, inside truck and one at home. Not counting the one I have now

I have 4 spare keys for mine, these damn keys are so cheap it's not even funny. I keep one in the house, one in the boat and 2 on the ring (so I can lock my truck while it's running)

Honestly I would have never thought of the metal detector idea, much less tried it. Awesome idea and really cool you found them
