Can I disconnect my rear left door?

The sensor that tell me it is ajar that is. Every time it rains it gets wet and I get the door ajar chime. Can I cut a wire to just disconnect? Won't have time to replace for a month or so.

If you are gonna go through the effort of trying to disable it you might as well remove the switch and lube it up. It's located on the door latch.

WD40 works like a champ...spray and operate the door a few times.
