Test Drove 6.0

So I test drove a 2004 F-350 Dually yesterday, It has 44k miles on it and 4inch lift. So when we started the test drive I asked him if this engine had any of the problems of other 6.0s and he tells me the engine in the truckis brand new. One of the employees at the dealership started it right up early one winter morning before letting the diesel heat up and it ruined the engine.

On to how the truck felt, the delaerships located on a major highway so the lack of initial power to get out onto traffic Ill have to get use too. My current car has a 0-60 of 5seconds so there would be an adjustment period if i switch to this truck. The truck handle well and didnt feel to big for the road, felt very comfortable. So Ill have a decision to make over next couple weeks.

Heres a picture of my girl next to truck. Big height difference.

all i have to say is get an oasis or carfax. that story they told you about not heating up the diesel and it ruining the engine sounds shady.

I have never heard of that not heating up the diesel thing..? Even if it has a brand new wngine, you will need to check the EOT vs. ECT and FICM volts for sure. I remember there was a truck around here that had 12k on the new motor when the EGR ruptured causing the headgaskets to blow. Thats a nice looking truck tho

Get yourself an full Oasis Report from a Ford dealer, they are gonna need the VIN off the truck. This report will tell you what has been done when it was under warranty.

Also as already mentioned, your gonna want to check the ECT/EOT delta and FICMv. For this your gonna need to use something to plug into the OBDII port to get the readings. Read this for an explanation.
Things to consider about owning a 6.0L

With the right mods, you can or will be close to your current car at 5sec 0-60.

That right there is the biggest bunch of BS I think I've ever heard coming from a car dealer... Whoever told you that is a moron. I wouldn't let him try to sell my lawn mower.

I love my '04, IMO I would rather deal with several easy flaws on the '03-'04's than one major flaw of the '05+. Just my .02¢
