Wifes Butt Cold!!!!! Need Heated Seat Xpert!
Well this may be an exaggeration to some extent.
Here is my sad story. Replaced my 2004 Lariat power bench seats with a set of 2002 Lariat heated captains chairs. I had the 2002 connectors which made wiring very easy. Everything works great EXCEPT: Push the heat button, the indicator light flashes once then nothing and no heat. Both seats do the same thing. All of the power adjustments work just fine. ![]() These seats have the solid state seat module under each seat. Could these be bad or have I wired something incorrectly? I tried to order a module through Tousley but their system does not recognize the part number (14C724). An internet search reveals that the heated seat modules are only available through salvage yards?? Does that mean all of the replacements that would have been made by Ford have been used up? ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THESE SEATS? Many thanks in advance. |

![]() For those guys who find the hog rings a PITA, I can safely say, for replacement "Use hog ring pliers and NEW hog rings", they are the only way to go. It took less than an hour to put new leather on the seat and back. Planned on posting pictures but discouraged with this heater thing. |

That was my heated seat thread. I couldn't tell that the wires were broken until I pulled the pad apart. I have heard that zip ties are the way to go putting the seats back together instead of hog rings.
Good luck!! |

Thx HB,
I pulled they leather off and inspected the pads visually in addition to a ohm meter test. Everything looked/tested good. I have to think it is in the "control modules". Only thing I can't reliably test since they are solid state. Was even thinking of hard wiring to eliminate the control modules but have not gotten that brave yet.

The passenger seat heater works fine in my truck, which makes my wife happy. But the driver seat is a different matter: the light comes on when the button is pushed, but the seat never heats up. The majority of these posts mention either a light that flashes and goes off, or no light at all, so I'm thinking maybe this problem in my truck is different?
Thoughts? thx |
